I created this resource to help teach foundational reading skills to older students. Using real pictures and challenges, students will work on these skills without feeling like they are doing something meant for younger students.
Thank you for checking out this resource. I created this as a fun way to practice a VERY important reading skill – segmenting and blending sounds in words! Looking for more I SPY activities? Click here!

Phonics posters are great but it is also super helpful to practice a skill after you teach it! These phonics/spelling pages do just that!
This is an endless bundle. That means if you purchase now, you will lock in the current price and still get access to all new pages that will be added!
By making the change from standard spelling tests to skills-based spelling tests, we are creating the habit for kids to attend to sounds and how those sounds are spelled.

These assessments are designed as a way for you to check what skills your students/children have and where you should focus your instruction. These assessments can be given on a regular basis to check progress.

This resource aligns with Unit 3 which includes s as /z/, Silent E, and Vowel Teams. The sentences and passages also include the high frequency words from my scope and sequence.
When we rainbow write words, we are simply copying letters. This task is actually okay if your goal is letter recognition and learning to write/form letters. However, if your goal is to learn words, this is not an effective task. This simple switch to rainbow writing sounds is much more effective!
This is a simple letter that you can send home to parents and let them know what strategies you are using in the classroom to support reading. **Now includes SPANISH versions**
Stop memorizing words & start sounding them out! This unit will help you map out 63 high frequency words that previously may have been taught through memorization. Words with short vowel sounds and open syllable long vowels are included.
See below to see everything that is included here! (This unit is part of a bundle!)
I said I would never create High Frequency Word Centers but here we are! Did you know that memorizing words is not an effective or efficient way to learn? There are many research studies that show our brains do not store words visually.

I created this image to simplify the parts of the brain that work together when you are reading. These posters can be used with your students in your classroom but may not be used in any presentations without my permission.
