Overview
When we use look alike words, we are requiring students to attend to all the letters and sounds in the word. This helps them build the habit of doing this and can also help break the habit of looking at the picture or using the first letter to guess the word. That is why. I created this resource. I am on a journey to unlearn all the things and promoting orthographic mapping is currently my obsession because it works! I always say it’s like magic, but it’s science! Not sure if this is right for you?

This resource includes CVCE words only.1 page of a_e, i_e, o_e, and u_e4 pages of mixed vowels(There are not enough e_e words to create an entire page so you will find these words in the mixed pages)*This resource was updated 9/2026 to remove all Soft C and G Words fully aligning this resource with our scope and sequence.
