I created this as a fun way to practice a VERY important reading skill – segmenting and blending sounds in words! Please remember that this is a focus on SOUNDS, not letters.
What’s included
There are 5 slides and pictures included have 2-5 phonemes.
How to use
For each themed slide, you will segment the sounds in a word and students will need to blend those sounds together in order to know what word you are looking at. For example, in animal I spy, you might say, ”I spy a /k/ /r/ /a/ /b/” and students will have to blend the sounds to know that is the word crab.
